Delicious fruit fritters – anytime temptation

Ingredients

  • Medium pear, cored and thinly sliced 1
  • Ripe banana, peeled and cut into round slices 1
  • Canned pineapple slices, halved 3
  • Sugar 1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Egg, yolk and white separated 1
  • Oil 3 tbsps + for deep-frying
  • Refined flour (maida) 1 cup
  • Icing sugar 2 tbsps

Methods

  • Take pear slices, banana slices and pineapple in a bowl, add sugar and lemon juice, toss and keep aside.
  • Take egg yolk and 3 tbsps oil in a bigger bowl and beat well. Add refined flour and mix till smooth mixture.
  • Beat egg white in another bowl and beat with a hand blender for 2-3 minutes or till it becomes stiff. Add ½ cup water and beat once more. Pour this mixture into the flour mixture and mix till it becomes smooth.
  • Heat sufficient oil in a deep pan.
  • Dip fruit pieces in the batter, gently slide into hot oil and deep-fry on high heat for 2-3 minutes or till golden. Drain on absorbent paper.
  • Sprinkle icing sugar over the fritters and serve immediately.
