Ingredients

  • Walnuts, chopped ¼ cup
  • Rosemary ½ tsp
  • Butter 2 cups + to grease
  • Castor sugar 2 cups
  • Eggs 5
  • Vanilla essence 1 tsp
  • Refined flour 2 cups
  • Milk 1 cup

Methods

  • Preheat the oven to 180º C. Grease a cake tin with a little butter.
  • Take butter and castor sugar in a mixing bowl and beat together with an electric beater.
  • Add eggs, one by one, and beat. Add vanilla essence and continue to beat till mixture is light and fluffy.
  • Add refined flour, milk, walnuts and rosemary and mix well to make a thick batter. 
  • Pour this batter into the prepared cake tin, keep it in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  • Bring the cake tin out of the oven and let it cool slightly. Demould, cut into slices. Arrange the slices in a serving platter and serve.
